Your invoices stay in your browser

Your business details, logo, saved clients, saved items and invoices are kept in your browser's local storage, on this device. They are not uploaded to our servers. There are no accounts, so there's no copy of your data anywhere else.

The same goes for payment tracking: when you mark an invoice paid, the paid date is saved in this browser, and receipts are made on your device like invoices are.

The PDF is made in your browser too. When you press Download, the file is built on your device and saved straight to it.

Clearing your browser data, or using a private window, removes your saved invoices. Other people using the same browser profile can see them. To keep a copy or move to another device, use Download backup and import the file on the other device.

You can delete everything any time from My invoices.

• No account, email address or password. There's nothing to sign up for.
• No cookies of our own. The only ones are from Google Analytics, described below.
• One third-party script, Google Analytics, and nothing else: no ad trackers, no social buttons, no fonts from other servers.
• No copy of your invoices, clients, logo or payment details on any server, ours or anyone else's.

You're in control of all of it. On My invoices you can download a backup file with everything in it, export your invoices to a spreadsheet, or delete it all with one button. Clearing this site's data in your browser settings removes it too.

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which parts of the site get used, so we know what to fix and improve. It never sees anything you type: not your invoices, clients, amounts, names or email addresses.

What Google Analytics gets:

• The pages you visit and the site you came from.
• A few actions, with no details from the invoice: starting, saving, downloading or printing an invoice or receipt (with the template and currency), backing up or importing, sharing the site, and when browser storage is full.
• The technical details any website gets: browser, device type, screen size and a rough location worked out from your IP address. Google Analytics doesn't store the IP address itself.

It sets cookies (named _ga) so it can tell a new visit from a returning one. We've turned off Google signals and ad personalisation, so this data isn't used for ads. To opt out, block cookies for this site, use an ad or tracker blocker, or install Google's opt-out add-on. The site works exactly the same without it. Google's own handling of this data is covered by its privacy policy.

There are no ads on the site yet. If we add them, they will never see the contents of your invoices, and this page will say exactly what's used before they go live.
